Impasta
Everyone gets a secret food on their phone. One player, the Impasta, gets a close one instead, like ravioli when everyone else has lasagna, and nobody is told who. Take turns giving clues, then vote on who had something different.
How to play
- Open this game on a TV or laptop. It shows a four-letter code.
- Everyone opens eatnow.lol/play on their phone and types the code.
- Hold the card on your phone to peek at your food. Keep it hidden from the people next to you.
- Take turns giving a clue of one or two words. You can't say the food itself.
- Vote on who had a different food. A tie lets the Impasta get away.
- A caught Impasta gets one guess at everyone else's food. A right guess steals the round.
Questions
- How do you play the imposter game online?
- Open Impasta on a TV or laptop, and everyone joins on their own phone with the room code. Nobody needs an app or an account. It works over a video call too, as long as everyone can see the shared screen.
- Does the Impasta know they're the Impasta?
- No. The Impasta sees a food like everyone else, just a different one. You might work it out from the other clues, and then you have to bluff.
- How do you score?
- If every Impasta is caught and none guesses right, everyone else gets 1 point. An Impasta who gets away gets 3. A caught Impasta who names the other food gets 2. Most points after the last round wins.
- How many people can play?
- Three to ten. With seven or more there are two Impastas, and they share the same different food.
- Is it like Among Us or Mafia?
- It's the same kind of game: someone is hiding, everyone talks it over, and then you vote. There is no night phase and nobody gets knocked out, so a round takes about five minutes and kids can play.
- Is it free?
- It's in the Launch Pack, which whoever hosts buys once ($5 at launch). Players join free, with no app and no account.
