Picnic Panic

Race your friends
Everyone gets the same blanket on their own phone. Dig into an ant hill and you're stuck for five seconds. The TV shows how far along everyone is.
How to play
- Tap a square to dig. A number tells you how many ant hills touch that square, corners included.
- Hold a square, or switch to Cloche, to cover a square you think hides an ant hill.
- Tap a number once all its ant hills are covered to dig every square around it at once.
- On your own, one ant hill ends the game. In a race, it costs you five seconds.
- In a race, the first player to clear the blanket wins the round. If nobody does in three minutes, the most squares open wins. Places score 3, 2 and 1 over three rounds.
Questions
- Can you play minesweeper online with friends?
- Yes. In a Picnic Panic race, one person opens a room on a TV, laptop or phone, everyone joins at eatnow.lol/play with the four-letter code, and you all clear the same board at the same time on your own phones.
- How is it different from regular minesweeper?
- The mines are ant hills and the flags are cloches. Every board starts with an open patch, so the first tap is never a guess. In a race, an ant hill costs you five seconds instead of ending your game.
- How many people can play?
- One on your own, or two to eight in a race. Everyone races on their own phone.
- What is the daily board?
- Everyone who plays today gets the same board, so you can compare times. A new one comes out every day, and your best time is kept on this device.
- Is it free?
- The daily board and practice boards are free. Racing friends on the same board comes in the Launch Pack, which the host buys once ($5 at launch). Players join free.
